I'm a little late on this but it's taken me a few days to put my thoughts together. Mark Lewis was an incredibly bright light in this world who made everything and everyone he touched a little brighter. When I first met him at 13 years old, he exploded my idea of what it meant to tell a story and I was sure (and still am) that if magic exists in this world, that he was full of it. He was absolutely one of the most gifted storytellers of our time and I am so thankful that he has left so many stories behind for us. This week I can't get the picture out of my head of Mark standing on the dirt stage of the Bravo amphitheater surrounding by trees and darkness and one hundred spellbound, crying theatre kids, with big heavy tears in his own big beautiful eyes, ending one of my favorite pieces in his repertoire..... "Who'll go a Waltzing Matilda with me?" We all will, Mark. Someday. Thank you for your stories and your magic. I will be forever grateful to have been touched by your light and can only hope to spread some of it around. Rest in peace, Mark Lewis. "The thing to remember when you're feeling low, Is bad stuff's going to happen - but it helps you to grow! So learn from it - thank it - and soon you will know, You'll be better.” said the Vegetable Lady.
