At the celebration of life for Mark yesterday, I realized that I was in a room with about 1000 other souls and we were all in love with the same man, and it was clear as Mark's family and friends shared, that Mark was in love with all of us. How lucky we all have been to share time and space with him After the celebration, I smelled the zesty lemon scent of a lemon cypress tree at Trader Joe’s. Zesty, pungent, and green with life! I bought that lemon cypress as my own personal memorial for Mark. After I bought it, I read the tag: this shrub grows to be 100 feet tall and up to 30 feet wide! How fitting…. a great metaphor for Mark Lewis. You thought all you got was Mark when you first met him, but soon fell under his spell and realized the size of this man’s spirit was 100 feet tall and 30 feet wide. And by the number of people there to honor and celebrate him, perhaps I should plant a redwood forest instead. With love and respect, Karen Myers
