When first I came to Faire in Agoura at 16, there was a LOT of growing up left to do...Mark was one of the prodigious Faire personalities who, well, "raised" me. He taught me about integrity, honour, creativity, and inspiration. He was unstintingly honest, but still so loyal (even if you screwed up.) (I learned things *can* be fixed sometimes...that a cracked plate isn't necessarily ruined.) So many of us lose touch, lose track when our life-paths take us away from the Faire family. But in our hearts and minds, we think the giants of our youth will always be there. This week, countless FaireFolk touched by Mark are adjusting to the truth that he is not.
