I invited Mark to attend my Roosevelt Middle School yearly event of a Medieval Feast for a class called The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. I asked him if he would tell a couple of stories as part of the night's entertainment. Even though I had little cash to pay him, he agreed to come and perform because that is what he loved to do. That evening, he came dressed as a squire, had several stories to share, and each was complete with an accent, sound effects, and that wonderful expressive face that was his alone. The students were mesmerized! It was the best Medieval Feast of the 25 years I had it and it was because of the talent, kindness, and warmth of sweet Mark Lewis. One of my most cherished memories of my 37 year-long career.
